Among Democratic voters, the number of certain voters increased significantly. This reduces Trump’s chances of winning.
US presidential candidate Kamala Harris has surpassed her opponent Donald Trump in terms of popular support. The Democratic representative was ahead of the former president by 1% – 50% compared to 49%. This is confirmed by a new sociological survey commissioned by CBS News.
It indicates that in the so-called swing states, which usually decide the outcome of the electoral battle between US presidential candidates, there is still complete equality: both candidates have 50% of the support of local voters .
The publication noted that Biden never had the same results as Harris.
The survey also showed that the share of Democratic supporters who want to vote is growing, while Republican sympathizers who want to vote are becoming fewer.
“Overall, this suggests that the election may hinge on voter turnout and, in particular, low-turnout voters—those who don’t always vote,” CBS News said.
As CBS points out, Harris and Trump’s pre-election ratings were symmetrically split between voters of different genders. Thus, the current vice president is significantly ahead of the Republican candidate in terms of the number of votes among women (54% versus 45%) and also less among male voters (45% versus 54%).
Note that the most likely candidate for the position of vice president from the US Democratic Party is Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, although Kamala Harris has not yet made a final decision.
