Russian authorities called on local residents to “be patient” and called the situation “abnormal.”
Residents of the city of Berdsk, Novosibirsk region, were left without electricity and water after a forklift dropped a power line support. The Moscow Times wrote this on Sunday, August 4.
As mentioned by Mayor Roman Burdin, there is currently no electricity in the entire city, whose population is 102.8 thousand people.
Burdin called on local residents to “be patient” and called the situation “abnormal.”
“The most critical thing, of course, is our hospital, where patients are on ventilators, and so on, electricity is necessary, so we quickly resolve the issue,” he said.
This is not the only recent case in the Russian Federation where hundreds of thousands of people were left without electricity as a result of an accident. So, in mid-July, after a power unit at the Gusinoozersk power plant was turned off, electricity was lost in the homes of 115 thousand residents of Ulan-Ude. The Gusinoozerskaya State District Power Plant is the largest condensing power plant in Transbaikalia.
We remind you that in Buryatia there was an accident at the Gusinoozerskaya State District Power Plant, as a result of which 115 thousand residents of the region were left without electricity supply. One of the three power units there was turned off, and local residents wrote on social networks that they heard a loud explosion and saw smoke above the facility. However, the authorities have not made an official comment on this matter. From the neighboring region of Irkutsk, it is necessary to redistribute the power of the electric system to power Buryatia.
Earlier it became known that power outages in the Krasnodar region of Russia affected more than 325 thousand people, in the Rostov region – more than 226 thousand people.
