The Israeli military has killed senior members of Hamas and Hezbollah who planned and participated in attacks on Israel.

US President Joe Biden will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The subject of the negotiations was the likely expansion of the conflict in the Middle East after the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Ghania in Iran. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said this on Thursday, August 1, in a briefing.

He declined to specify what exactly the parties would discuss, but stressed that Washington was “making intensive efforts” to avoid an escalation of the conflict.

The US Navy has concentrated 12 warships in the Eastern Mediterranean and Persian Gulf as the situation in the region worsens.

Let’s remember that on July 31, one of the leaders of the Palestinian group Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, was killed in Tehran. On July 29, Israel carried out an airstrike on the Lebanese capital Beirut. During the strike, Hezbollah’s “supreme military commander” Fuad Shukr was removed.
