When inspecting the property of the Ukrainian shrines, the Ministry of Culture recorded many violations: from conditions of use to damage to museum objects and buildings.
The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate still uses the Pochaev and Svyatogorsk Lavras. In this regard, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy (MCIP) is actively working to return these shrines to state control. Acting Minister of Culture Rostislav Karandeev spoke about this in an interview with Ukrinform, published the day before, on July 29.
Karandaev noted that similar work is being carried out in connection with other shrines used by the UOC-MP, including the historical reserve “Ancient Chernigov”.
According to a representative of the Ministry of Culture, during a property inspection of these shrines, the department recorded many violations: from use to damage to museum objects and buildings.
For example, after taking over the UOC-MP Holy Transfiguration Cathedral in Chernigov, MCIP began the restoration of the interior, especially the ancient frescoes.
Earlier it was reported that in Pochaev Lavra, to review the state of preservation of state property, a commission of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine began work.
We remind you that last year searches took place in the Pochaev Lavra.
Prior to this, Metropolitan Epifaniy announced in the summer that Kiev Pechersk and Pochaev Lavras will subsequently be transferred to OCU. The Metropolitan has no doubt that Ukrainians will glorify God together in their own language in one church.
