Deutsche Welle writes that after the visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Moscow, Budapest included citizens of Russia and Belarus in the so-called “national card” program. It is received by those who submit documents for employment in Hungary for two years with the possibility of extension.
The fact is that there is no special check of national card holders at the European level, notes the German publication RND. And this has already caused concern among Hungary’s neighbors. The publication recalls that in the spring the Hungarian government announced that it was expecting about 65 thousand workers with their families.
In an interview with RND, German MEP Sergey Lagodinsky noted that allowing entry into an EU country without checks in a situation where Russian authorities are doing everything possible to weaken Europe with hybrid attacks is the wrong way to go. At the same time, he also believes that it is wrong to “brand all Russian citizens.”
