This was reported by the Director of the Kyiv City State Administration Health Department Valentina Ginzburg, the official portal of Kyiv reports.
Also, compared to the beginning of July, the number of hospitalizations due to coronavirus has increased:
- As of July 1, there were 20 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 and one suspected of having the disease in the capital’s medical institutions;
- By the morning of July 29, there were already 73 such patients.
Moreover, on average, about 20 people a day are admitted to hospitals, Ginzburg notes. Let me remind you that they are hospitalized in complex cases of the disease. Unfortunately, among such seriously ill patients there are 18 children.
It is noted that since the beginning of the year, 52 people have died from COVID-19 in the capital.
Ginzburg notes that the risks of coronavirus infection can be reduced by following the following rules:
- maintain personal hygiene, wash your hands and use disinfectants;
- avoid closed spaces with large crowds of people;
- Frequently ventilate the premises and carry out wet cleaning at home and at work.
But, most importantly, strictly adhere to the rule – “If you are sick, stay home!” If you feel unwell, self-isolate as much as possible. After all, COVID, even with a mild course of the disease, can be fatal for the person you infected with a weak immune system (a child, a pregnant woman, a chronically ill person, an elderly person), – notes Ginzburg.
Ginzburg noted that both children and adults need to undergo testing in order to accurately understand which treatment strategy to choose.
So the algorithm of actions should be as follows: if you get sick, stay at home, see a doctor, get tested and strictly follow all recommendations for a full recovery, she emphasized.
