From the end of October 2023 to June 26, 2024, the number of aircraft suitable for flights in the fleet of the 13 largest air carriers in Russia decreased by 3%, to 693 units. This follows from data from the Federal Air Transport Agency.
According to the registry of the Federal Air Transport Agency, the largest number of aircraft was taken out of service during the reporting period in the company Rossiya (Aeroflot group) – 12 vessels. The airline’s fleet includes a total of 124 aircraft, of which 19 were mothballed.
As reported, Russia is experiencing a downturn in the civil aviation industry. Malfunctions of civilian ships became more frequent after Western sanctions cut off the Russian Federation from certified aircraft repairs and the supply of original spare parts. Thus, by invading Ukraine, the Kremlin is directly exposing its population to mortal danger.
We also reported that the Russian airline S7 Airlines will reduce the number of flight crew in Moscow, and will also cut the capital’s office employees.
