The difficulty in rescuing the victim was the massive presence of wasps that chased the man into the water.
A 47-year-old Ukrainian died on a beach in Italy. The cause of death was wasps, to which he was allergic. Corriere della Sera reported this on Sunday, July 28.
As the journalists clarified, the tragedy occurred on Saturday, July 27, in Crotone in southern Italy.
“The man noticed a crowd of wasps near him and tried to hide from them in the water. Due to the fact that the man was allergic to these insects, he was very scared and because of the fear that he was attacked in the heart.” said the report.
It is indicated that the doctors who arrived on the beach initially thought that the cause of the Ukrainian’s death was anaphylactic shock from a wasp, but they found no traces of a bite.
“Therefore, according to preliminary conclusions, he had a heart attack and drowned,” the journalists pointed out.
The rescuers found that there were many wasps on the beach, and they made holes in the sand where they lived.
