This was reported by local publications Halk and T24.
The event took place yesterday, July 27, when Erdogan handed over the keys to a family as part of a turnkey disaster housing project. Then two of the family’s children came on stage.
Erdogan extended his hand to the children to kiss. After the boy, who was about five years old, did not kiss his hand and looked at him for a while, Erdogan slapped him. Later, when the boy did kiss his hand, the Turkish leader gave both children pocket money.
It is noted that one such incident occurred when Erdogan visited his family’s neighbors in Riga, when he slapped a child who wanted him to sign a Turkish national team jersey.
Another similar incident occurred in 2021 at the opening of the Salarha Tunnel in Riga, when Erdogan tapped a boy on the head.
And during the 2023 presidential election, there were reports that Erdogan had publicly slapped a child. Erdogan later claimed it was his grandson, whose cheek he had “patted.”
