The G7 partners believe they should help Zelensky stay and strengthen Ukraine’s position.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson believes it is not possible to end the war on Ukraine’s territory in the near future. The lack of optimism on this issue, the British Prime Minister said in an interview with the German edition of the ZDF after the G7 summit.
“Of course everyone wants the war to end. They want the war to end. But no agreement is possible. Putin does not offer a peace agreement. Zelensky cannot offer an agreement,” he said.
The head of the British government said the G7 partners had agreed that they should help the President of Ukraine hold and strengthen the country’s position.
“The goal of the G7 is to help Zelensky get a better position for him if negotiations with Russia take place. For now, such an approach,” Johnson said.
He added that G7 leaders are ready to give Ukraine guarantees about the future, including “it will receive NATO weapons, intelligence data and more.”
It will be recalled that the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau and the Prime Minister of Great Britain Boris Johnson recorded a joint appeal to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and to the Ukrainian people, in which they assured unwavering support for Ukraine.
It was also reported that Johnson wanted to invite Zelensky to London.
