Russian aggressors took another 1,000 children from the Kherson region, allegedly for “health improvement.” This was announced by Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets on Telegram on Saturday, July 27.
“The Russians brought 1,000 children from the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region to Kabardino-Balkaria for recovery,” he wrote.
According to Lubinets, for more than two years after the start of the mass invasion, Russia systematically transported Ukrainian children aged 6.5 to 16 years thousands of kilometers from home to get to know the “beauty” of the region, who took “patronage” in the Kherson region.
“Most of these children have parents, who, in turn, probably give permission for the child to be removed however, how free a choice under work remains an open question,” explained the ombudsman .
He added that during such trips, children are forced to use not only the culture and traditions of the enemy state.
“They are using a powerful resource to destroy their Ukrainian identity, which in turn is part of the genocidal policy of the Russian Federation. Such actions grossly violate the rights of children and international standards for the protection of children. human rights,” he emphasized.
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian authorities managed to identify almost 20 thousand children kidnapped by Russia. In reality, hundreds of thousands of children could be deported.
In March 2023, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ombudswoman Maria Lvovskaya-Belova for the deportation of Ukrainian children.
