US presidential candidate Donald Trump is two points ahead of his likely Democratic rival, Kamala Harris. This is according to the results of a YouGov poll for The Times, conducted after President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the election.
The publication said that more than three months before voting day on November 5, “Trump could still lose the election.”
The Republican is viewed more favorably than Harris, with 44% of likely voters very or somewhat favorable to the former president, according to the poll. 41% of respondents say this about Harris. At the same time, 50% have an unfavorable view of Trump and 51% have an unfavorable view of Harris.
It was noted that Trump remains the most trusted candidate on two key issues – the economy and immigration. He is also at the fore on issues of foreign policy and crime. Meanwhile, Harris is ahead of Trump in terms of trust on anti-abortion and environmental issues.
