As part of his visit to China, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba visited the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on July 25. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, July 25.
The minister met with Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee. The parties discussed the creation of new opportunities for trade and investment in the context of the renewal of our country.
Kuleba called for measures to be taken to deprive Russia and Russian companies of the opportunity to use Hong Kong to evade sanctions imposed for aggression against Ukraine.
He noted the importance of these measures to reduce the military potential of the Russian Federation and prevent killings in Ukraine.
The diplomat emphasized that Russia’s machinations should not affect Hong Kong’s reputation as a highly developed liberal economy based on respect for the rule of law.
As you know, Kuleba is on an official visit to China at the invitation of his Chinese colleague Wang Yi from July 23 to 25.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said China supports the start of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
