Kamala Harris leads Donald Trump in national polls, 44% to 42%.
US Vice President Kamala Harris leads Republican Donald Trump by two percentage points in a poll following Joe Biden’s decision to end his campaign. Bloomberg wrote this with reference to a Morning Consult survey.
Harris leads Trump in the national poll, 44% to 42%, within a margin of 3 percentage points.
In a preliminary poll on July 15-16, Harris and Trump each had 44% support, and at the beginning of the month the Republican was ahead of the US vice president by one percentage point.
Additionally, in the most recent poll, 56% of registered US voters said Harris, 59, is “resourceful and able to handle challenges.” Only 49% said this about 78-year-old Trump, and only 22% said this about 81-year-old Biden.
The survey was conducted on July 22-23 – after the US Republican National Convention, where Trump was officially nominated as the presidential candidate, and after Biden announced that he was leaving the race and supporting Harris’ candidacy.
It can be recalled that on July 21, Biden announced that he would end his election campaign and that he was supporting Vice President Kamala Harris to run in his place.
The number of Democratic leaders who have pledged their support for Harris continues to grow after President Biden endorsed his candidacy.
