China expressed expectations from Kuleba’s visit

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will call for a ceasefire and peaceful resolution of the conflict during negotiations with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba during his visit to the PRC. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said this on Tuesday, July 23, when asked about Beijing’s expectations from the Ukrainian minister’s visit.

According to him, Kuleba and Wang Yi will exchange views on the implementation of the joint agreement of the two presidents, promoting Ukrainian-Chinese cooperation and issues of mutual interest.

“The Chinese side will continue to stand on the side of peace, support the strengthening of consensus in the international community, and jointly seek real ways to resolve the “crisis” (as Russia’s aggression against Ukraine is called in China, – ed..) political methods,” she said.

According to Mao Ning, “China is always in favor of a ceasefire, and the peaceful resolution of the crisis is in the interest of each side.”

At the same time, in his response, the Chinese diplomat did not mention the need to comply with the principles of the UN Charter in terms of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, which requires the aggressive country Russia to liberate the occupied territories . of Ukraine.

A day before it became known that on July 23-25, Dmitry Kuleba will visit China at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Ye. The main topic of the negotiations is finding ways to stop Russian aggression and China’s possible role in achieving of a sustainable and just peace in Ukraine.

And a few days ago, Beijing announced the need to “renew dialogue” between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. They believe that large states “should show positive energy and no negative influence.”
