Since the beginning of the year, 758 people have died in bodies of water in Ukraine, 458 of them since the beginning of summer alone.
In the past two days, 24 people, including a child, have died in the water in Ukraine. This was announced by Svetlana Vodolaga, a representative of the State Emergency Service, in a telethon on Monday, July 22.
“Unfortunately, we can state the fact that over the weekend the number of deaths in the water is increasing. This weekend, in two days, 24 people died, including a child,” he said.
In total, 758 Ukrainians have died in the water since the beginning of the year.
“Since the beginning of the year, 758 people have died in Ukraine, 458 of them since June 1. That is, since the beginning of summer, 458 people have died, of which 64 are children,” said Vodolaga.
The State Emergency Service urged Ukrainians not to neglect safety rules when swimming and to choose official beaches, whose lists are published on the websites of local authorities, or where lifeguards are duty.
