“Language matters” and “Mosley, get out of Lvov” – these were the words used to accompany Farion’s coffin on its final journey.
Three simple words, but what weight and value for our people they carry. Several thousand people saw her off at the Lychakiv Cemetery. Among them were authorities, Farion’s students and friends, as well as activists with posters.
Iryna Farion was shot in Lviv on the evening of July 19. Late that evening, doctors reported that her wounds were incompatible with life. The police are still searching for a man who may be involved in Farion’s murder.
