When the guy was descending the cable car and reached the middle of the Dnieper River, the cable broke, causing him to fall into the water.
Rescuers and police are currently working at the scene, and the search for the body is ongoing. Investigators are working to establish all the circumstances of this incident.
Law enforcement officers opened a criminal case regarding the incident.
A cable break did occur on the cable car ride near the Pedestrian Bridge. Passersby who witnessed the incident tried to pull the cable out because they hoped there was a person there. But, unfortunately, there was none. That is why the police and the diving and rescue unit of the State Emergency Service are currently working at the scene of the incident, which is examining the river waters in places where, according to witnesses, there may presumably be a person, said Civil Defense Service Major Pavel Petrov.
