On the night of July 20, the enemy launched 16 Shahed-type attack UAVs from the Kursk region and used one drone of an unspecified type. The Russians also launched strikes with three Iskander-M ground-based ballistic missiles and one Iskander-K cruise missile. They were launched from the Voronezh region. The Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.
The enemy attacked Kharkov, Poltava, Sumy, Chernigov and Kyiv. The air defense battle involved units of the mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces, anti-aircraft missile troops and electronic warfare of the Air Force. 13 targets were shot down – 13 “Shaheds” and one drone of an unspecified type.
Let us recall that on July 18, an Iskander missile was shot down for the first time in the Odessa region. Such missiles move along a high trajectory of about 100 km and attack the target from above. In addition, the ballistic missile maneuvers before the strike and drops false targets.
