Yemeni Houthis (Ansar Allah) spokesman Yahya Saria said the city was attacked by the latest Jaffa drone, which is capable of bypassing interception systems. If true, this would be the first successful Houthi attack on the city. It is unknown where the drone was launched from, but if it was from Yemen, the UAV traveled more than 2,200 km.
The IDF is already conducting an investigation. Preliminary, the air defense did not work due to “human error”. The siren was not turned on during the attack.
According to the US, four more UAVs were shot down by coalition forces as they approached Israel.
Earlier, the Iran-backed group announced on social media that it would reveal details of a military operation targeting Tel Aviv.
The Israeli military said it was stepping up air patrols, and Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai said the military was on high alert.
