Ukraine, together with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, is launching the “Ukraine is Home” platform. It will help Ukrainians abroad who want to return to their homeland and need help. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on Thursday, July 18.
It was noted that the new platform will provide displaced people and families with proven and up-to-date information that will help them make a decision about the possibility of returning from abroad to Ukraine.
In particular, on the site you can find answers, for example: what documents are required to cross the border, how to transport a car bought abroad, what will happen to social benefits and housing provided of the country of temporary protection.
Information is also provided about assistance available to low-income families and displaced persons returning from abroad.
“We welcome UNHCR’s leadership and coordinating role in helping Ukrainians at home and abroad. As Russia’s aggression continues, our people abroad continue to need international help and support. At the same time, we are ready to work together to help Ukrainians abroad who In this regard, we hope that the platform “Ukraine is Home” will be one of the important tools that will help people receive reliable and up-to-date information on all issues related to returning to Ukraine, and see what opportunities and advantages , and make an informed choice,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba commented at the event.
The minister also called on the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees to take decisive steps to protect Ukrainian children who were illegally brought to Russia.
Let’s recall that at the PACE summer session in Strasbourg, a resolution was adopted “Urgent call to Europe and its partners: to consider immediate and long-term political solutions in support of displaced people in Ukraine .”
In the past, the German government has opposed the idea of deporting Ukrainians who are in no rush to find work.
