The Profile Committee of the Verkhovna Rada agreed to the candidacy of People’s Deputy Dmitry Lubinets for the position of Ombudsman instead of Lyudmila Denisova, who was recently removed from this position. This was reported on the committee’s Facebook page.
“The members of the Committee approved the conclusion in compliance with the candidacy of Dmitry Valeryevich Lubinets for the position of Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, provided by the Law of Ukraine” To the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights and the absence of reasons preventing him from this position, ”the message said.
Recall that the Verkhovna Rada removed Lyudmila Denisova from the post of Commissioner for Human Rights at the end of May.
Earlier, signatures were collected in parliament for his dismissal.
A few hours later, information emerged that Denisova had invented horrific stories about the rape of children by the Russian military. This is said to be the basis of his dismissal.
