The American leader cited “deep disagreement” among Americans ahead of the presidential election. However, he emphasized that this is not a reason for violence.
US President Joe Biden on Sunday, July 14, spoke to the nation about the assassination attempt on presidential candidate Donald Trump. He called on US citizens to resolve political differences exclusively through elections.
Biden mentioned that a spectator at a rally in Pennsylvania died because he was exercising his right to free assembly, mentioned the attack on the wife of former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and noted that “there is no place for any violence in America.”
The American leader also mentioned the “deep disagreement” among Americans that appeared before the presidential election. The choices that US citizens must make will “really shape the future of America,” but “it’s human nature to have disagreements,” he said.
“Despite all the differences, there is no need to resort to violence,” Biden said, calling for “voting, not violence.”
In a previous address, Biden called for not jumping to conclusions and letting “the FBI do its job.”
