The $250 million package includes guided missiles, air defense missiles, anti-tank weapons, ammunition and a shipment of shoes.
Australia announced $250 million in military aid to Ukraine. It is Australia’s largest package since the full-scale Russian invasion, ABC News reports, citing Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Richard Marles.
“This is not the last package we have announced. We will continue to support Ukraine as long as it takes for Ukraine to win this war on its own terms,” Marles said.
It was noted that Marles, on the sidelines of the NATO summit, met with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, as well as US President Joe Biden.
The $250 million Australian military package includes guided missiles, air defense missiles, anti-tank weapons, ammunition and a shipment of boots.
In addition to financial aid, Australia will also contribute a “certain number” of personnel to the new NATO command in Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive modern boats from Australia that can perform tasks both on rivers and in the open sea.
Before this, Australia gave Ukraine a $100 million defense aid package.
