New Zealand Foreign Minister Winston Peters announced additional sanctions as part of the government’s response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.

“Our latest round of sanctions targets Russians involved in this country’s military-industrial complex and providing military aid to Russia,” the statement said.

The new sanctions reportedly target seven individuals and 12 organizations that support Russian aggression, are involved in illegal arms shipments from North Korea to Russia for use in Ukraine, and Iranian entities that provide military aid to Russia in the form of kamikaze drones.

“New Zealand condemns all those who provide military support to Russia in its war of aggression against Ukraine. The supply of Iranian drones and North Korean weapons to Russia poses a threat to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. International efforts to impose sanctions against those involved in increasing the cost to Russia of its illegal war of aggression,” the statement said.
