Ukraine will be represented at the Olympic Games in Paris by only 140 sportsmen and women.

Only 140 athletes will go to Paris. This will be the smallest representation in the history of Ukraine at the Olympics. Ukraine’s previous worst result was in Tokyo in 2021 – 155 athletes. This was stated by the President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Vadym Gutzeit on July 9 at a press conference broadcast on the NOC’s Facebook page.
In total, we have 124 licenses today. These are 140 sportsmen and sportswomen who will take part in the Olympic Games. We have already completed our selection for the Olympic Games, Ukraine finally has 124 licenses, – Gutzeit said.
So far it is known that the Ukrainian state will be represented at the Olympics in almost all sports. For the first time in the history of Ukraine, the national football team will perform at the Games.
The number of participants of Ukraine at the 2024 Olympics by sports:

- football – 18;
- diving – 9;
- rowing (kayaking and canoeing, canoe slalom) – 9;
- wrestling (freestyle and Greco-Roman) – 9;
- rhythmic gymnastics – 6;
- Academic rowing – 6;
- artistic gymnastics – 6;
- tennis – 6;
- shooting (bullet and clay pigeon) – 6;
- fencing – 6;
- swimming – 5;
- Judo – 5;
- cycling (road + mountain bike) – 4;
- boxing – 3;
- breaking – 3;
- modern pentathlon – 3;
- table tennis – 3;
- rock climbing – 2;
- artistic swimming – 2;
- archery – 2;
- badminton – 1;
- weightlifting – 1.
As you know, the 2024 Summer Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
Let us recall that in May it became known that Ukraine will take part in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Ukrainian officials believe that these Olympics are of particular importance for Ukraine, because these games are a big screen to the world. The slogan of Ukraine at these competitions will be the saying The Will to Win, which is translated as “The Will to Win”.
