However, due to record drought in the southern regions of Ukraine, the yield of wheat and barley may decrease. This was stated on air of the national telethon by the acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky.
In some regions, unfortunately, there is a record drought and lower figures. At the same time, in the western and central regions, the figures are even higher than last year, he noted. Therefore, for now, the forecast is within 5-7% less than the previous year’s figure, which, given all the challenges that the war continues to bring, is a really good result.
According to Vysotsky, this year the harvest began approximately two weeks earlier than average, due to weather factors.
