The head of the Indian government, in an informal meeting with the head of the Kremlin, reportedly called for an end to the war, NDTV said.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived on a two-day official visit to the Russian Federation, called for an end to the war in Ukraine. He allegedly said this during an informal meeting with Kremlin head Vladimir Putin, according to Indian media NDTV.
The head of the Indian government emphasized that it is impossible to find a solution on the battlefield.
“India has always called for respect for the UN Charter, including territorial integrity and sovereignty. There is no solution on the battlefield. Dialogue and diplomacy is the way forward,” Modi stressed.
The Prime Minister also expressed concern about Indian citizens who were “tricked into joining the Russian army by unscrupulous travel agents.”
Russia has promised to return all victims, the sources said.
We remind you that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky responded to Modi’s visit on X (Twitter).
“It is a great disappointment and a severe blow to peace efforts to see the leader of the world’s largest democracy embrace the world’s deadliest criminal on such a day,” the head of state wrote.
As already written, India is demanding that the Russian Federation return the recruited citizens after the death of two Indians in the Russian army.
