Joe Biden has told fellow Democrats that he will stay in the 2024 presidential race.
US President Joe Biden told members of the Democratic Party that he will remain in the 2024 presidential race. Bloomberg reported this on Monday, July 8.
It was noted that Biden sent a letter to Democrats amid talk of his possible replacement.
“I am determined to stay in this race, see it out and defeat Donald Trump. The question of how to move forward has been debated for over a week now,” Biden wrote in the letter.
At the same time, the American leader said that he is aware of the “concerns that people express” about his candidacy. “I’m not blind,” the president said, speaking about concerns expressed by a number of Democrats.
“Believe me, I know better than anyone what the responsibility and burden of the nominee from our party is,” Biden emphasized.
He said he wouldn’t be running if he didn’t believe he was “the best person to beat Trump in 2024.”
Biden also mentioned that his candidacy is the choice of the voters of the US Democratic Party, because he won the primaries.
“We have a task and it is to defeat Donald Trump,” the US President emphasized.
Let’s remember that in June, Trump and Biden took part in the debate. Biden’s performance was so poor that the Democratic Party was called to replace its presidential candidate.
Biden later admitted that his performance was not successful, but said that he would not withdraw from the election.
