In July, more than 2,500 drones of various types and characteristics worth 4 million euros will arrive in Ukraine. The first batch of 300 UAVs will be delivered in the coming days. All of these Latvian-made drones were manufactured at the facilities of seven companies. This was reported by the press service of the Latvian Ministry of Defense.
Together with the participants of the drone coalition, we are constantly working to supply Ukraine with combat drones of varying power in accordance with the current needs and testing requirements of the Ukrainian army, said the head of the Latvian Ministry of Defense Andris Spruds.
It is noted that this year Latvia has allocated 20 million euros to the drone coalition, of which more than 10 million euros are intended for the purchase of UAVs from the Latvian defense industry.
As is known, the International Drone Coalition includes 14 countries – Latvia, Ukraine, Great Britain, Australia, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Canada, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Great Britain, France, Sweden and Estonia.
Let us recall that on July 4, President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters, where much attention was paid to drones and electronic warfare, namely their production in Ukraine, financing, supply and use.
