After meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, he said he realized that the positions of both sides in relation to the bloody war unleashed by Russia “are very distant.” He added that it is impossible to achieve peace now without dialogue and diplomatic channels. Orban said this on July 5 at a press conference with Putin in Moscow.
I felt that the positions were very far apart, that many steps needed to be taken to establish peace, but the first important step towards dialogue had already been taken, he noted.
Orban added that he wants to continue his so-called peacekeeping efforts.
War criminal Vladimir Putin stated that “Russia sees that Kiev is not ready to give up waging war to a victorious end.” The dictator once again emphasized that one of the conditions for ending the conflict is the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions.
The Russian president accused Kyiv of “not allowing the thought of a ceasefire.” Moscow, he said, allegedly advocates a complete and final end to the war in Ukraine. The Kremlin rejects any truces or pauses.
Let us recall that after Viktor Orban’s visit to Moscow, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stated that the Hungarian side had decided to make this trip without agreement or coordination with Kiev. However, for Ukraine, the principle of “no agreements on Ukraine without Ukraine” remains unshakable. And only a peace formula can stop the war.
