It turns out that the human rights ombudsman has invented creepy stories about the rape of children by the Russian military.
Former Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova made up horrific stories about the rape of children by Russian soldiers, which led to her expulsion, reports Ukrainska Pravda.
Journalists learned that in March, Lyudmila Denisova, with the support of UNICEF, launched an additional psychological support hotline to the existing one at the time. This line was addressed by psychologist Alexandra Kvitko, Denisova’s daughter.
It stated that five professional psychologists were working on the line, and in the first two weeks 400 people had sought help, most of whom were talking about sexual crimes. However, it is not known how these calls were recorded, who the psychologists working on the appeals were, and so on.
Kvitko said that within a month and a half, her hotline had received approximately 1,040 calls, of which 450 were related to child rape. However, the official extract received by prosecutors indicated that only 92 phone calls were received during the entire period.
At the same time, journalists could not find confirmation of the stories told by Kvitko and Denisova, even though these stories had details that would help in the search for victims. Neither the ombudsman nor the psychologist could provide any evidence that these victims existed.
During interrogation, Denisova said the stories she told in public, she heard from her daughter. According to Kvitko, he told this to his mother “over tea”. Outside the camera, Denisova explained that she told scary stories because “she wanted success for Ukraine.”
At the same time, European partners turned to Ukrainian law enforcement officers and deputies and asked to provide evidence of rape. They could not respond to these requests, as the ombudsman “returned” and did not communicate his actions to parliament.
All this, allegedly, became the basis for his removal.
Recall that the Verkhovna Rada removed Lyudmila Denisova from the post of Commissioner for Human Rights at the end of May. Earlier, signatures were collected in parliament for his dismissal.
