In the UK, the opposition Labour Party, led by Keir Starmer, wins the snap parliamentary elections.

Rishi Sunak conceded defeat and congratulated Starmer on his victory. Starmer will become the new Prime Minister of Great Britain after an audience with the British king.
Starmer visited Ukraine in February 2023 and assured that under his government, Britain’s support for Kyiv would not diminish. He also backed the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant for Putin and advocated for him to be tried in The Hague.
Keir Starmer has stated that Britain’s support for Ukraine will not change after the parliamentary elections:
The last thing anyone in Ukraine wants is to see political parties in the UK arguing over what is a matter of life and death for them.
Shadow Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Shadow Defence Secretary John Gilli visited Ukraine in May. They reassured Labour’s continued support for the Ukrainians and their support for increased UK aid to Ukraine this year and beyond.

Keir Starmer was in Ukraine in February 2023. At that time, he visited Irpin and Bucha, and also stressed that the UK continues to be the only one in supporting Ukraine.
In June, the British Labour leader condemned comments by the head of the Eurosceptic Reform UK party, Nigel Farage, about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The Labour leader responded that the comments were “disgraceful”.
I have always been clear that the Path bears responsibility, sole responsibility, for Russian aggression in Ukraine, and we have always supported Ukraine, Starmer said.
This support for Ukraine, he said, was provided by a “united parliament.”
I have made it my duty to ensure that the opposition is with the government on this issue, he added.
“And I think that anyone who wants to be a representative in our parliament should be clear that whether it is Russian aggression on the battlefield or online, we stand against that aggression. That means standing up for Ukraine, but it also means standing up for our freedom,” Starmer said.
The vote count has not yet been completed in all constituencies, but Labour has already officially won 381 of them, which provides a majority in the 650-seat chamber, the BBC reports.
Current projections suggest this would be the Conservatives’ worst ever seat result. It would also be the Liberal Democrats’ highest since 1923.
