All the latest opinion polls predict a major victory for Labour, after 14 years of the Conservative Party in power.
Voting began in the UK for early parliamentary elections on Thursday, July 4. The British will determine the new composition of the House of Representatives and which political forces will form the new government.
Polling stations opened in 650 constituencies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland at 7:00 am local time. They are open until 22:00.
After voting is completed, counting of votes and publication of exit polls will begin immediately. The first county results could be released as early as 11pm UK time, but the final results are likely to be announced around 9am on Friday.
