During the public indictment of prosecutors from the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the court found guilty and sentenced a local resident for high treason and justification of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, committed repeatedly (Part 2 of Article 111, Part 2, Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
She was sentenced to life imprisonment with confiscation of all property.
Prosecutors proved in court that during February 2023, the woman carried out subversive activities against Ukraine in favor of the aggressor state. She carried out the tasks of representatives of the Russian special services: she transmitted information and exact coordinates of military facilities in Cherkassy and the region to the FSB of Russia.
The convicted woman also actively justified Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on social networks and admired the military personnel of the aggressor state and the Wagnerites.
In April 2023, the Cherkasy resident was detained.
During the investigation, they found a video of the “Wagner Group” with killed Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen, rough recordings confirming cooperation with the Russian special services, lists of propaganda YouTube channels, and a number of pieces of evidence of illegal activity.
The woman committed these crimes during her probationary period. In 2022, she was convicted of denying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation and glorifying its participants, as well as collaboration.
The convicted woman awaited the court’s verdict in custody.
