A ceasefire can be guaranteed to speed up the approach of peace negotiations, the Hungarian Prime Minister believes.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has suggested that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky cease fire on the front if he wants to start peace negotiations. He said this at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday, July 2.
According to Orban, the war in Ukraine has a “severe impact” on European security. He assured that he highly appreciates all the peaceful initiatives of Zelensky, but their implementation takes a lot of time. Everything is complicated, in fact, by following the rules of international diplomacy.
“And so I asked Mr. President to think about whether it is possible to do something differently.
He believes that a ceasefire can be guaranteed to speed up the approach to these very negotiations.
“I outlined all this to the president, and I am grateful that the president expressed his opinion on this issue honestly,” added the Hungarian Prime Minister.
As you know, on July 2, Viktor Orban came to Kyiv and said that his visit to Kyiv is connected with Budapest’s presidency of the European Union. Before the visit, he promised to take the first step towards establishing peace in Ukraine.
The Office of the President announced that Zelensky and Orban will hold important talks about the future of Europe, security, international law and the Peace Formula.
