On Tuesday, regional power companies will be implementing three stages of shutdowns simultaneously throughout the day. Such restrictions are forced to be introduced due to a significant increase in consumption in hot weather. Ukrenergo reported this on Telegram.
Power engineers have called on Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly when the lights are on.
And the head of the board of NEC “Ukrenergo” Vladimir Kudritsky said that the problems with electricity are affected not only by regular Russian shelling, but also by the heat. Now the average consumption per day is significantly higher than what it was two or three weeks ago.
Recall that the Ministry of Energy stated that Ukraine plans to build up to 1 GW of gas-fired maneuverable electricity generation by 2024. Officials noted that some of these facilities are already at the stage of connecting to the energy system, and some are at the construction stage. The program is being implemented comprehensively, so such facilities will appear in virtually every region.
