Dmitry Verbitsky was dismissed from the post of Deputy Prosecutor General, the Office of the Prosecutor General announced on July 1.
Andrei Kostin signed an order for the voluntary dismissal from the administrative position of Deputy Prosecutor General Dmitry Verbitsky, the report says.
According to Scheme, Verbitsky’s girlfriend, Kristina Ilnitskaya, with her modest income, became the owner of an elite estate in Kyiv worth 48 million UAH, a beauty salon, and a Porsche worth 100 thousand dollars in a year.
The Verkhovna Rada summoned Kostin to explain the situation with his deputy, but he refused, justifying it by the fact that “it is necessary to complete the official investigation.”
In a comment to Schemes, Verbitsky stated that their relationship with Kristina Ilnitskaya is not of a family nature, which includes reflecting her property in his declaration, and stated that he did not assist her in purchasing real estate.
Ilnitskaya also added that “at this stage” the relationship is not of a family nature. She explained her property, purchased in 2024, in part by the fact that she once had a “yacht business” with her unnamed ex-boyfriend, from whom she allegedly inherited many assets in his will.
The schemes managed to establish the name of this entrepreneur. In a comment to journalists, his widow stated that even before his death he had cancelled his will for Ilnitsky and it had not entered into force. This is also confirmed by the records in the registers.
