Police received a report that a man in an apartment building fell down an elevator shaft from approximately the fifth floor.
Rescuers and doctors revived the 66-year-old man, but he died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
As police had previously established, the elevator car the man was riding in stopped between floors when the power went out. The passenger did not wait for the emergency services to arrive and independently opened the elevator door and fell down the shaft.
The police ask citizens in such cases not to try to get out of the cab on their own, but to wait for the arrival of emergency services.
