Biden has admitted that he is indeed old, but he still believes he can beat Trump in the presidential election in November, The Guardian reports.
“I know I’m not a young man, that’s obvious to the state. I know I don’t walk as lightly as I used to, I don’t talk as smoothly as I used to, I don’t debate as well as I used to, but I know what I know. I know how to tell the truth,” he said at a campaign rally in North Carolina.
Biden has made clear that he believes he can still do the job of president.
I know, as do millions of Americans, when you get knocked down, you get back up,” he said. “Friends, I give you my word as Biden: I would not run again if I did not believe with all my heart and soul that I could do this job. Because, frankly, the stakes are too high.
Biden’s speech took place in North Carolina, a state that voted for Trump in 2020. But Democrats have poured significant energy into the state’s campaign in hopes of turning things around.
