This was announced today. On June 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on his Telegram channel.
Zelensky provided a list of those who were successfully fired:
- Nariman Jelal, deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, was captured in Crimea back in 2021;
- Elena Pekh and Valery Matyushenko are civilians who have been in captivity since 2017-2018; Bohdan Geleta and Ivan Levitsky – priests of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, captured in Berdyansk for resisting the occupiers;
- five civilians captured on the territory of Belarus and deprived of their freedom – Nikolai Shvets, Natalya Zakharenko, Pavel Kuprienko, Lyudmila Goncharenko and Ekaterina Bryukhanova.
Thank you to each and everyone who helped! Thank you to our team that is engaged in the release of prisoners. I would also like to note the efforts of the Vatican to bring these people home, Zelensky emphasized.
