American President Joe Biden has admitted that he is not participating in debates like he used to.
US President Joe Biden has commented on criticism of his poor performance in the election debate with Donald Trump, partially acknowledging criticism of his direction. This was reported by The Guardian on Friday, June 28.
Speaking to supporters at a campaign event in North Carolina, the American leader admitted that he is not as good at participating in debates as he used to be.
“I’ll say the obvious: I know I’m not young anymore, I know I can’t walk as easily as I used to, I don’t speak as well as I used to, I don’t debate anymore. as always, but I know what I know how to tell the truth,” Biden said.
The politician added that he knows how to “do the job” of the president, and “when you fall, get up.”
“My friends, I give you Biden’s word: I will not run again if I do not believe with all my heart and soul that I can do the job. Because frankly, the stakes are too high,” Biden said.
We remind you that the first debate between Biden and Trump in the presidential race ended in complete failure for the current head of state. During the debates, the US president’s voice was often hoarse, which the White House later attributed to a cold. There were also times when Biden lost his train of thought or couldn’t clearly articulate a proposal.
CNN reporters polled observers and asked: Who do you think won the debate today? Joe Biden got 33%, Donald Trump – 67%. Democrats have reportedly begun talking about a possible replacement candidate.
