In the first six months of 2024, Ukrainian defenders shot down more than 30 Russian military aircraft. This was reported by the Center for Strategic Communications (StratCom) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Friday, June 28.
These aircraft include: nine Su-25, one Su-57, two MiG-31, about 13 Su-34, one Su-35, one Su-35S, two A-50, one Il-22M11 and a Tu-22M3.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to effectively destroy Russian combat aviation, with the use of Western weapons… The number of aircraft, their models and modifications, as well as the locations of the damage indicated that Some of the aircraft are in condition, but may return to airports for long-term repairs. In addition, in some cases, the models of the destroyed aircraft cannot be reliably identified,” said Stratcom.

Earlier on Friday, it became known that the fighters of the National Guard destroyed a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft in the Donetsk region, and the Air Force in the south and east shot down six enemy UAVs of different types .
