In Ukraine, over the past six months, mobile operators have installed a record number of base stations. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov.
According to him, on average, 240 new base stations are installed every month. In the last six months – a record 2,295+ in over 300 locations.
Fedorov added that in May the Ministry of Digital Development, together with its partners, presented a strategy for the development of electronic communications until 2030. One of the main goals is that by 2030, 98% of the population will have mobile communications and broadband Internet access. Today this figure is 91%.
“The entire infrastructure of Ukraine, including telecom, is under Russian fire, mobile operators are not only restoring destroyed equipment, but also continue to invest in improving existing equipment,” said the minister .
We remind you that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky signed a law on the implementation of European roaming legislation. When traveling in the EU, calls, SMS and data are included in the home package of services, respectively, roaming services are provided at no additional cost.
It was also reported that in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, the occupiers installed more than 2,000 of their mobile network towers to spread propaganda.
