Usik stated this in a video message published on his page on the social network Instagram.
Usik noted in the caption to the video that the IBF belt is his “gift” to them, adding that “the world loves the strong.”
Hi all. Anthony and Daniel, listen, I know the IBF belt is important to you, he noted in the video. – Let’s call this my gift for September 21st. Glory to God of all! Glory to Ukraine!
In a duel with British boxer Tyson Fury on May 19, Usik received the title of absolute world super heavyweight champion, collecting all four championship belts.
With a rematch with Fury set to take place on December 21, there has been speculation that the terms of the fight contract prevent Usyk from having a mandatory fight to defend the IBF belt against Dubois, who is the number one contender for the belt.
However, Usik’s manager Egis Klimas on his page on the social network X denies that the boxer refused the IBF title due to a condition in the contract for the fight with Fury.
It is not true. We did not have such a clause in the contract. Usyk did it because he wanted to,” Klimas said.
