Turkey is ready to provide ships for the evacuation of Mariupol residents

The Turkish minister announced active contacts with the Russian Federation and Ukraine regarding the safe departure of Turkish ships from Ukrainian ports.

Turkey is ready to assist in the evacuation of civilians from Mariupol. In particular, to provide ships for the transportation of people by sea. This was stated by Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, reports Anadolu.

According to the minister, the Turkish side in this matter links its actions to the structures of Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

Hulusi Ankar also said that the country continues to deliver humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

He noted that in recent weeks he had repeatedly talked by phone with Russian and Ukrainian colleagues, Sergei Shoigu and Alexei Reznikov, and he also had a personal meeting in Istanbul with Reznikov.
