Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski noted on TVN24 that, for example, “the Finns closed the border crossings with Russia, and the skiing is over.”
Sikorski also emphasized that what is happening on the Polish eastern border “is a fully controlled operation of Russian and Belarusian services.”
We are talking about migrants who are trying to break through from Belarus to Poland and, in particular, wounded a Polish border guard, as a result of which he died.
Currently, there are only two checkpoints on the Polish-Belarusian border: “Kukuriki” (“Kozlovichi”) for freight traffic and “Terespol” (“Brest”) – for cars and buses.
Earlier, at the end of May, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, on the contrary, stated that the possible opening of the Bobrovniki checkpoint on the border with Belarus was closed on February 10, 2023. But after these words, a new round of the migrant crisis occurred, during which a Polish soldier died. Therefore, these plans immediately became irrelevant.
