Almost 20% of Ukrainian IT specialists work abroad. In 2023, compared to 2022, the number of Ukrainian specialists working in foreign IT companies increased from 50-57 thousand to 65 thousand This is confirmed by the results of the study “AI ecosystem of Ukraine: talent, company, education”, conducted by the non-profit organization AI House and the Roosh investment group with the support of the Ministry of Digital Information, said the head of the ministry, Mikhail Fedorov.

According to the given data, the total number of IT specialists in Ukraine will increase to 307 thousand in 2023 from 285 thousand in 2022.

According to Eurostat data cited in the study, Ukraine ranks second among the countries of Central and Eastern Europe in terms of the number of IT specialists, with Poland in first place with 600.7 thousand.

“The active migration of specialists abroad due to the war leads to a lack of qualified personnel in the domestic market, which hinders the development of the industry,” said the researchers’ conclusions.

Earlier it was reported that equipment worth 900 thousand euros was transferred to Ukraine as part of the IT coalition. The main priorities are to close unit requests regarding front communications.
