The State Department recalled that about 70% of mechanical equipment imported by Russia comes from China, as well as 90% of microelectronics.
The United States, if necessary, is ready to impose new sanctions against third countries for supporting Russia in order to keep the pressure and ultimately end the aggression. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced this on Tuesday, June 18, at a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
“Among other things, we are looking at countries that support Russia’s defense industrial base that allows Russia to continue its war, particularly China. As President Biden made clear, our real concern is not China are supplying Russia with weapons; they are not doing that.” Blinken said.
Beijing provides critical support to Russia’s defense industrial base, he said. About 70% of the mechanical equipment imported by the Russians came from China, 90% of the microelectronics came from China, which allowed Russia to support the war machine and continue the war.
“It has to be finished and we do and will do everything for it,” Blinken emphasized.
It was previously reported that the delivery of goods from China is becoming more expensive in Russia. Rising remittance rates have added to the already existing difficulties of transferring money in China.
