An appeal is being prepared, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) reported on June 18.
Currently, the prosecutor’s office is preparing an appeal, since the prosecution asked the court to choose a preventive measure for the commander in the form of detention for a period of 60 days with the right to post bail in the amount of UAH 5 million, the report says.
Let us recall that on June 3, 2024, employees of the DBR, in cooperation with the SBU, reported suspicion to the commander of the regional directorate of the territorial defense forces “South”, who forced his subordinates to build him a private house.
The official has been forcing three military personnel to build the estate since 2023. For more than a year, they built a house for the boss, while receiving additional payments for supposedly performing combat missions on the front line.
The commander was notified of suspicion under Part 5 of Art. 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – abuse of official powers, which caused significant damage under martial law.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 12 years. The issue of choosing a preventive measure is being decided.
